Sustainability

We believe research and innovation will help contribute to our  understanding of  the marine  environment – allowing us to consider development of deep ocean mineral resources with confidence. The exploration currently being conducted on deep ocean resources will aim to help address climate change and greenhouse gas issues by providing the raw materials for the energy transition away from our dependence on fossil fuels. More raw materials for batteries and renewable energy sources are needed as the world transitions into a circular economy. This goal is critical for the sustainability of our planet and future generations.

 Working with the Cook Islands and all the stakeholders of the deep ocean, we can provide the information necessary to make intelligent fact-based choices that can lead to a better world for our oceans and future generations.
